How often do you think About Rome (extra credit blog)
You may have come across the recent (well, not that recent anymore) discussion of how often men think about Rome. Here's a chance for you to weigh in. How often do you think about Rome? Why?
Being completely honest, not that often. My own defense relies on the fact that I have other things to consider, most notably my work and my schooling. Should the day come (and it WILL come) that I graduate and I will finally allow myself to have free time once more, I have no doubt that I will think back to Ancient civilizations - Greek and Rome and Egypt and China, everyone becoming so hopelessly entangled over time. It is only human habit at this point to look back at where we came from, where we went, etc.
I'd say every once in a while! It was such a unique and powerful nation. Whether it's the Republic or the Empire, these prominent figures were masters of their craft. Some of the most powerful political and military leaders known to man.
Part of it feels like a fantasy novel. That this isn't a real point in history but something you'd read in a fiction book. Yet, to know that this did happen in the past makes it the more interesting and super cool.
